My son is on 80E between Long Pond and Tannersville. Everyone has been stopped for a couple of hours, many are now trying to get sleep in their cars.

Jan 23, 2016 - Kentucky State Police posted warnings about traffic delays on social media, helped distribute snacks, fuel to stranded motorists. In interviews motorists on I-75 said KSP Troopers to be commended. PSP Troopers take note!

PSP Troopers sitting at PA Rte 739 exit not trying a solution for motorists stuck 10 hours on I-84 E; if they were off-duty stuck on I-40 for 10 hours in 25 degree temps, observed NC Troopers not trying a solution, they would demand it!

Illegal?? It's an emergency. Law enforcement officers (that includes PSP Troopers!!) are permitted to use "reasonableness" to assist the public...aka motorists stranded for 7 hours in 27 degree temps on I-84 EAST.

Same location. Just talked to cop and asked that question. Said no, it’s illegal. But, jackknifed trailer has been removed. Now need plows to clear road and should release traffic. “Hopefully within an hour”
