TX 96
State Highway 96 or SH 96 (now renamed to League City Parkway) is a state highway that runs 6 miles (9.7 km) between Interstate 45 and SH 146 in Galveston County. This highway runs between Kemah and League City. It runs past what used to be the Houston Gulf Airport.
SH 96 was previously designated in 1926 on a route from Raymondville to Harlingen, mainly along the Gulf Coast. By 1933, it extended north to Corpus Christi. By 1939, the routed was truncated to start in Sinton, with an already constructed section between Corpus Christi and Chapman Ranch transferred to SH 286. The remaining route was redesignated as U.S. Highway 77 in 1943 when it was extended south.
