GA 7
State Route 7 (SR 7) is a state highway that runs south-to-north through portions of Lowndes, Cook, Tift, Turner, Crisp, Dooly, Houston, Peach, Crawford, Monroe, Lamar, Pike, and Spalding counties in southern and central Georgia. The route runs from its southern terminus at US 41 and FL 25 at the Florida state line southeast of Lake Park to its northern terminus at US 19, US 41, SR 3, and SR 16 in Griffin. The route is concurrent with either US 41 or US 341 for its entire length, and closely parallels I-75 for much of its length.
From its southern terminus at Florida SR 25 at the Florida state line, southeast of Lake Park, the route travels north, concurrent with US 41. North of Valdosta, the two routes arc to the west to meet I-75. US 41/SR 7 continue north concurrent with I-75 to Hahira. In Hahira, US 41/SR 7 exit off of I-75 and continue north, mostly in close proximity to I-75. In Perry, SR 7 departs US 41 and runs concurrent with US 341. The two routes travel northwest to Barnesville. In Barnesville, US 341 reaches its northern terminus at US 41; SR 7 continues north, concurrent again with US 41, to its terminus at US 41's intersection with US 19/SR 3 south of Griffin.
With I-75 running adjacent to it, SR 7 south of Perry is mainly used for local traffic. However, construction or closures on I-75 can lead to the route being used as a detour.
