GA 34 (Bypass)

State Route 34 (SR 34) is a state highway that runs west-to-east through portions of Heard and Coweta counties in west-central Georgia. The route runs from its western terminus at the Alabama state line southwest of Franklin to its eastern terminus at SR 54 west of Peachtree City.

The route runs northeast from the Alabama state line, where is continues as [[Alabama State Route 22{AL 22]] to Roanoke, through Franklin in Heard County. It continues northeast, and crosses into Coweta and Newnan.

The portion of SR 34 extending east from Newnan is a four-lane parkway. Its bypass is SR 34 BYP. In Newnan, it runs concurrent with US 27 BUS/SR 16 for a few miles from the intersection of Temple Avenue with Franklin Highway/Hospital Road, to the Posey Place crossover between Jackson and Jefferson streets downtown, some distance north of Newnan's Court Square.

Past Newnan, the route crosses I-85 and heads east to its terminus west of Peachtree City.

State Route 34 Bypass (SR 34 BYP) is a 29.8-mile (48.0 km)[citation needed] bannered route from 20 miles (32 km) west of Newnan to the east side of the town. The route bypasses SR 34 in Coweta County. There are many small back roads reconnecting it to SR 34 (Temple Avenue in Newnan).

SR 34 BYP starts at an intersection with SR 34 west of Newnan. It then intersects with US 27 ALT/SR 16. A few miles later, it serves as the northern terminus of SR 70[citation needed]. SR 34 BYP then intersects with US 29. It ends at SR 34 east of Newnan at the town's shopping mall, The Forum at Ashley Park.
