GA 24

State Route 24 (SR 24) is a state highway that runs south-to-north in an S-shaped curve through portions of Bulloch, Screven, Burke, Jefferson, Washington, Baldwin, Putnam, Morgan, and Oconee counties in east-central and northeastern Georgia. The route runs from its southern terminus at US 80 and SR 26 in Statesboro to its northern terminus at US 129, US 441, and SR 15 north of Watkinsville.

The route initially runs east from its southern terminus in Statesboro in Bulloch County, but turns north and then northwest in Screven County in a loop around Sylvania. SR 24 continues northwest into Waynesboro in Burke County, where it turns slightly southwest and runs into Louisville in Jefferson County, then continues west to Sandersville in Washington County.

As the route crosses into Baldwin County, it turns northwest and heads into Milledgeville, where it intersects with and becomes co-signed with US 441 for the rest of its journey. Continuing northwest, the route enters Putnam County and heads into Eatonton, before running on into Morgan County, crossing I-20 just south of Madison, and heading through Madison north to Watkinsville in Oconee County and to its northern terminus.

Initially, SR 24 ran from Watkinsville to Louisville. It turned northeast there, running into Augusta on present US 1/SR 4. Modern SR 24 was numbered SR 20 from Louisville east to Waynesboro and unnumbered the rest of the way.

SR 24 has multiple banner routes, two of which are located in Eatonton and Madison. In those two towns, SR 24 Business follows US 129 BUS and US 441 BUS.
