AR 156 begins at AR 265 in Hogeye, when it runs east to cross I-540/US 71. The route heads north to meet AR 170 in West Fork, and to begin a concurrency with US 71 BUS. AR leaves US 71 BUS near Drake Field, heading east and then north entering Fayetteville. In Fayetteville, AR 156 meets AR 16/AR 265 (colloquially 15th Street) and terminates.
